Valentine’s Day Mini Sessions with Daniel McElmury Photography | San Francisco, California

Vika and I organized our first ever mini photography session event for Valentine’s Day. We rented a cozy space in the Richmond District and scheduled six short sessions throughout the day. Four of the six sessions were with our lovely return clients and two were with our awesome new clients.  We made all our own props including bow and arrows, paper mailbox and hearts, and we even found an old typewriter for the kids to type love notes on. I think I was crawling on the floor more than they were! Each kiddo had their own distinct personality and it was awesome to interact with them to get the shots. Besides capturing each moment with my camera, I’m also excited to be giving each family printed products that were included in the packages they selected. I’m a firm believer in printing your photos. There is something amazing about holding a photo in your hand and passing it around the table. This is why I do family photography. For future generations to discover. I’m not so sure a USB stick or disc will be accessible in 50-100 years, but a printed photo sure will! For our first mini, I think it was a huge success! I had to ice my knees, but it was all worth it, and we’d gladly do it again! Thank you to all the families who came out and trusted us to capture some beautiful Valentine’s Day memories, not only for their kids, but for their kids and grandchildren to cherish as well.

Anonymous - All the children in these Valentine photos looks so cute and happy and like they feel very special. You two make these great shots happen because you are the people that you are. Your wonderful selves come through in your photos. You care, and you love what you do, and you just “know how” and “feel how”. Looking at these photos makes me happy, and I’m sure the parents feel it even more. After-all, you are photographing their most loved person in the world.ReplyCancel
